# Microsoft Teams

> Lindy's AI notetaker joins your Microsoft Teams meetings, records and transcribes them, and delivers summaries with decisions and action items.

## Overview

Lindy joins your Microsoft Teams meetings, records them, and delivers a summary with decisions and action items afterwards.

With the Microsoft Teams integration, Lindy can:

* **Join your Teams meetings automatically** based on your connected calendar
* **Record and transcribe** the full conversation
* **Deliver summaries** with key decisions, action items, and highlights
* **Send follow-up emails** to attendees with a summary and next steps

Both Microsoft 365 (work and school) accounts and personal Microsoft accounts are supported.

## Prerequisites

You'll need:

* A [Lindy account](https://lindy.ai) (free or paid plan)
* A connected calendar (Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook) in Lindy
* Teams meetings with a join link on your calendar events

## Adding the Microsoft Teams Integration

    Go to [chat.lindy.ai](https://chat.lindy.ai) and sign in to your Lindy account. If you don't have one yet, create a free account.

  <Step title="Connect your calendar">
    In your Lindy settings, connect your Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook calendar. Lindy uses your calendar to detect upcoming Teams meetings.

  <Step title="Enable meeting recording">
    In the settings panel, find **Meeting recording** and toggle it on.

  <Step title="Choose which meetings to record">
    Select your recording scope:

    * **All meetings**: Lindy joins every meeting on your calendar
    * **External only**: record client and prospect calls, skip internal syncs
    * **Specific meetings**: choose exactly which meetings Lindy should join

    Lindy detects the Teams link on your calendar events and joins at the scheduled time. Nothing to configure on the Teams side.

  If you only want Lindy to join certain meetings, start with **External only** or **Specific meetings** and expand from there.

## How Lindy Works with Microsoft Teams

Here's what happens for each meeting:

1. **Before the meeting**: Lindy detects the Teams link on your calendar event and prepares to join.
2. **During the meeting**: Lindy joins the call as **Lindy Meeting Notetaker**, a visible participant. It records and transcribes the conversation as it happens.
3. **After the meeting**: Lindy generates a structured summary and sends it to your inbox with a link to the full recording and transcript.

### Meeting Summaries

Each summary includes:

* **High-level summary**: the top bullet points covering key outcomes
* **Detailed notes**: in-depth coverage of the full discussion
* **Action items**: who needs to do what, with clear ownership
* **Full transcript**: searchable, timestamped transcript of the entire meeting
* **Recording link**: direct link to replay the meeting

You can customize the summary format, tone, and level of detail in your Lindy settings under **Summarization Instructions**.

### Searching Past Meetings

All meetings are saved to your Lindy dashboard. You can:

* Search across all meetings by keyword, person, or topic
* Ask Lindy about any past meeting in plain language (e.g., "What did we decide in last week's Teams call with Sarah?")
* Access full transcripts and recordings at any time

### Follow-Up Emails

Lindy can send follow-up emails after each meeting with a summary and action items. You choose who gets them:

* **All participants**: everyone on the invite
* **Internal only**: just your team
* **Specific people**: customize per your preferences

## What Data Lindy Accesses

Lindy's meeting bot joins as a participant and accesses only what is available during the call:

| Data                  | How it's used                                        |
| --------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------- |
| **Meeting audio**     | Transcription and summary generation                 |
| **Participant names** | Displayed in summaries and used for follow-ups       |
| **Meeting metadata**  | Title, time, and duration (from your calendar event) |

Lindy does **not** access:

* Your Microsoft Teams account, settings, or admin console
* Teams chat messages or channel conversations
* Meetings you have not opted in to record
* Screen shares or shared files
* Any Teams data outside of the meetings Lindy joins

All data is processed securely and stored in accordance with Lindy's [security policies](/resources/security).

## Removing the Integration

You can stop Lindy from joining your Teams meetings at any time:

* **Turn off meeting recording**: Go to your settings at [chat.lindy.ai](https://chat.lindy.ai), find **Meeting recording**, and toggle it off. Lindy stops joining new meetings immediately.
* **Tell Lindy to stop**: You can also just tell Lindy to stop joining specific meetings or all meetings.

### What happens to your data

* Existing recordings, transcripts, and summaries stay in your Lindy dashboard
* You can delete individual meetings or your entire history from the dashboard at any time
* Once recording is off, Lindy stops collecting any new data from your Teams meetings

## Troubleshooting

  <Accordion title="Lindy can't join a meeting that requires all participants to be signed in">
    Some Microsoft Teams meetings are configured so every participant must be signed in to a Microsoft account. Lindy's notetaker joins as an anonymous guest and cannot satisfy this requirement.

    To work around it, ask the organizer to:

    * Allow guest or anonymous joiners on the meeting, or
    * Admit Lindy manually from the lobby when it tries to join

    This is a Microsoft Teams policy, not a Lindy limitation.

  <Accordion title="Lindy joined but was dropped mid-meeting">
    Teams occasionally drops guest participants due to network or admission changes on the host side. Lindy will still generate a summary from whatever portion of the meeting it was able to record before being dropped.

    Yes. Lindy supports Microsoft Teams meetings from both Microsoft 365 (work and school) and personal Microsoft accounts. The following meeting link formats are supported:

    * `teams.microsoft.com/l/meetup-join/...` (Teams for work and school)
    * `teams.microsoft.com/meet/...` (Meet now and shareable links)
    * `teams.live.com/meet/...` (personal Microsoft accounts)

  <Accordion title="Is the recording visible to other participants?">
    Yes. Lindy joins as a participant named "Lindy Meeting Notetaker" so all attendees are aware the meeting is being recorded.

  <Accordion title="Does Lindy work with Zoom and Google Meet too?">
