How to Set It Up
Open Skills from the left sidebar to see every skill Lindy has, create new ones, edit their instructions, and turn them on or off.
Create a skill
- In chat
- On the Skills page
Tell Lindy how you want something handled, like “When I ask for my weekly report, pull the numbers from the dashboard, lead with the top three changes, and keep it under a page.” It saves the process as a skill and uses it from then on.
Three kinds of skills
Your skills
Personal to you. Lindy uses them only for your requests.
Team skills
Shared across your workspace, so everyone’s Lindy works the same way. Managed by workspace admins.
Built-in skills
Ready to use out of the box. Browse the library and install the ones you want.
You can customize any built-in skill by making your own version, then editing it like a skill you wrote yourself.
How Lindy picks a skill
Lindy always sees the list of available skills, just their names and descriptions. It loads a skill’s full instructions only when the skill is actually relevant to what you asked. That way it has the right expertise on hand without slowing anything down.Good to know
- Early access: Skills is rolling out gradually behind feature flags, and isn’t available to everyone yet.
- Turn skills off, don’t delete them: flip a skill off on the Skills page when you want Lindy to stop using it but might want it back.
- Descriptions do the routing: if Lindy isn’t picking a skill when you expect, make its description more specific about when it applies.
